I'm working on a prussia costume for the next convention in march. ( MIA in belgium)--- cuz i will be hanging with the vocaloid group at tsunacon

But i'm planning on making a uniform for prussia myself.
I already got the wig, red lenses and gilbird ( so i can do casual prussia version, for my fem!russia)

But i really want to make his uniform myself

so anyone got any tips on making a uniform like that. Though i really suck at sewing, i'mm gonna try it

pics will follow after a while cuz, i got exams atm.. and if my parents catch me with a wig on, i'm screwed xd

but also i cosplay as: kasane teto utauloid, miku hatsune and roxas - kingdom hearts + finally got my belarus wig so i'm happy to

I made the Italy uniform myself, and it was the first thing i sewed.
But then again I have a grandma who teaches sewing to people so she had everything, and it turned out perfect.

My tip is to use patterns and find someone who can teach you.

planning on it, gonna take sewing classes this summer anyway.
And going to my grandmother, she can teach me. So i can hopefully have it finished when it's MIA.

but how to find patterns? i really have no clue xs

hmm.. Since my grandma gives lessons she has all the patterns I need..

but i think you can find them around a sewing/fabric store, if not, they will at least know where you can find them.

It's almost done

i decided to go for the austrian succesion war outfit :p

I will post update pictures fast.. my next prussia outfit will be his normal uniform. I need it for a cosplay wedding, prussia gets the honor to walk fem prussia to the altar.

I will be wearing my prussian outfit at MIA 2012

But still got no clue how to start on this one, but it like the one this girl made.

Well what i useley do is buy something what looks somewhat what you want to make at a secondhandshop, something cheap. You put it on and with a marker you just draw where you would want your seamlines. Then you just take it apart and use the different parts as your pattern (which you can adjust as much as you want offcourse) Then I make a test on cheap cotten (take a fabric that doesn't stretch!) And make a dummy, just to be sure and not to fuck up my final fabric. If that one fits perfectly I use that final pattern to make it for real. Also then you can measure excactly how many metres you will be needing.

yeah i think i'm gonna find a jacket that matches my blue uniform pants ( yeah i went to a uniform school x_X)

And then adjust the jacket, and add all the extra's by sewing them on.

For the austrian succesion war i had help from my grandmother. All i need now ist the red cape, and my sword for prussia is in the making

I will be so happy when it's done. Can't wait to wear it to a convention
