The attack had been like a stab in the back. Russia didn't see it coming at all but he should've known better than to trust Nazi's and thereby especially Gilbert and Ludwig.

The bloody fight had been going on for some months now and his men started to get wary and paranoid. The constant attacks of the Luftwaffe had cost Russia too many men. Even Ivan who was trained for the battlefield had not expected Prussia to attack with such an amount of force. They had gotten as close till about 15 km from his capital. Russia could not allow the Nazi's to occupy his heart. It would mean game over.

During the bloody battles in his 3 meter deep trenches Ivan had collected an small elite group of men for a small personal army. Winter was coming soon enough and just as Russia had predicted, General Winter was not a wink too late as large snow flakes fell from the air. Attacks had been halted as the night started to take over and the flames were put in their small lanterns lighting the camp up in a dim and safe light.

Ivan was sitting in his tent together with his men. He could hear general Winter, soon enough a snow storm would follow and the howling of the wind was the only thing heard. "I want all of you to accompany me. I heard news of General Beillschmidt being close to the front lines. Next week during the night we will attack their camp. My orders are simple. Stay with me and kill everybody beside the general. No other prisoners!" he ordered in Russian and he looked at every single man before him. all of them had fought hard against the Wehrmacht and Ivan could feel a sense of pride fill his being. "Do not die till then. You are dismissed" he said and he moved his hand in a dismissive manner and the men all nodded and left the nation alone in his tent.

Ivan chuckled darkly as he rubbed his tired face covered in dirt and grime. "You shall see Gilbert. Winning in clear daylight is not always the smartest victory" he said and he dimmed his lights ready to sleep.

The alliance pact both Russia and Germany formed during the dark times of war was a great success, even better than expected. They had made some deals and rules during this, the Red army would supply them with anything they had in order to form a perfect war. That was until they received new orders from the Führer. Russia was no longer necessary to keep as ally, they had made themselves look weak by the failures they made. They were no longer of use as all supplies have been gathered, enough to fight the Red nation with, the Soviet's. Luckily the warnings weren't heard by the Russian ears as the eyes and trust blocked the path to understanding, listening and realization. He was theirs, Russia shall become one with their Reich.

They started attacking in secret to weaken the Russian borders, that were separating (East) Germany from Russia. Gilbert was made the general during these attacks, he lead the Luftwaffe and with that he weakened the Russian borders, took out the men and their main supplies. This would be a dead end for Soviet Russia and soon the heart would be theirs! Germany shall strike! Germany shall succeed! That is what all the Nazi's believed, gaining so much victories during this war. And it was only JUST begun! Gilbert gathered up a meeting as he came back after bombing some more of their supplies with his bomber airplane and during that he gave the next assignments to his team and updated his brother, Ludwig about the current status. Ludwig was in charge of the home base, he would send all supplies over to Gilbert if necessary. Everything was clear, everything would be perfectly fine if they took Russia as their prisoner. First they should make their way to his heart, Moscow. The men of the army already set up a camp near the borders, so that an easy access was allowed from Germany to Russia. From there on they would approach closer towards the heart. Leaving a trail of dead Russian corpses, hanging them up on the trees to threaten and to fear the Russians approaching, taking away their will to fight.

"Jawohl!" Gilbert smirked when his brother gave him some additional orders. Brotherly support was important, not all their men could be trusted. "Gilbert, Bruder, viel Glück." his brother told him proudly. With that Gilbert went straight to their Airbase to command his men to fill his airplane with enough fuel and to fix any damage as soon as possible. Time for another airstrike!

Ivan had woken up in his tent early and he walked outside only to be met with he rushed in inside and he put on his winter gear. His normal uniform was now covered in a long trench coat and his scarf was wrapped tightly around his face.

It was still early only 5 in the morning and Ivan could see the red sun just rising on the other side of the battlefield. Everything was silent. The snow still clean. But Ivan knew better than that. Soon enough the field would be covered in bodies and blood. Ivan started to wake up the remaining men in the camp. Which had become even less since some of them had frozen in their tents. Their bodies had turned blue and Ivan pulled a disgusted facec as he threw the body out and removed the clothes and handed it to the other soldier. No clothing or resources could be wasted.

The morning had continued and soon enough the first low sound of the planes could be heard and Russia looked at his troops who looked up and cowered away. "Stay at your spot and shoot it down!" he yelled at his troops and soon enough Ivan ran to the anti air and tried to shoot down one of the planes in the air.

His airplane was filled with the right amount of fuel. The airplane he'd use during this mission was the FW 200 'Condor' (Focke Wulf). And he'd take 4 other people along in his bomber type of the airplane, there would go another plane like theirs. But that one would be used for it's transport to invade the country with new reinforcement soldiers. Together with some fighter planes and minor bomber planes to distract and to fight all incoming air defence. With this the preparation of air strike Soviet Russia was complete!

Prussia waited for the other four members to join him inside, who arrived not much later. After some greeting and discussion about their strategy they entered the aircraft, Gilbert took the position of the pilot as the other prepared and double checked the aditional supplies in the airplane that were necessary for their attack of the Russian ex-ally. As everything was checked their flight towards the Russian territory has begun! They were slowly approaching ... One of Gilbert's team members contacted the transport planes to make the passengers equip the parachutes equipment and to land around the border for their own safety. Seemed like the Russians were expecting some of their airstrikes, luckily their fighter planes went right for the defence for distraction as planned, perfectly. In the meanwhile the transporting FW 200 was dropping it's troops down, after all the passengers got dropped from the aircraft the vehicle made a turn. Back to Germany - to safety. Everything looked good, until one of his team members got shot out of the sky by some anti-air weapon, but where did it come from?! Gilbert knew that it was one of his best mates of the Luftwaffe, he should help him! But how?! Not much later another one got shot down around the same area, he couldn't just let them down! He was ordered not to let himself carried away by his feelings, but there was no more stopping.

"Scheiße! Verdammt!! ... Verdammt Russland ..." Gilbert cursed loudly. Then he had a plan, a plan of support, he would take along a weapon before jumping out of the aircraft. He ordered one of the 4 to take over the flight control, the pilot's position. "Schnell!" and he jumped away from the seat. Equipped a parachute's backpack and a weapon. The doorway of the aircraft got opened up for a moment and he jumped out without second thought. The parachute popped open and he went down towards the wounded men, who did the exact same as their airplane crashed in the deep snow.

Russia laughed hard when he saw smoke and flames erupt from the planes which attacked him and his troops. "Go out! Go out and kill everybody!" Ivan ordered and he sent out his troops onto the battlefield.

Russia remained at the anti-air and he growled when he saw parachutes escape from the crashing plane which landed into the snow leaving a dirty trail of ash and metal before exploding leaving only a mangled skeleton of a plane. Ivan had to take cover to hide form flying pieces of metal and flame and he jumped of the artillery.

As soon as he thought it was save he saw that the parachutists had landed safely and Ivan rammed into the metal of the gun making a significant dent. It didn't matter that these man had survived the attack. Soon enough he would attack and he knew Gilbert would be close by. Ivan's intelligence could never be wrong. And if so... Some good years in Siberia would change someone's mind drastically.

The battle continued on again till the late night till there was again the silence. as Ivan had predicted the field was covered in dirt, trash, blood and bodies. His comrades had died bravely and their fight would not be futile. The weapons had been collected from the field together

Gilbert slowly reached the ground, covered up in the deep snow. It was a very soft landing, unlike suspected. He looked around and noticed on his way down that his men weren't far from him. "Gut." he released himself from the backpack parachute and reloaded the mauser he took along. It wasn't the best gun around and very basic, but any weapon that could kill Russians was considered good enough. In the hurry he had on board of the bomberplane, he also managed to get enough ammo for the gun. Causing him to smirk softly.

He moved on, towards the direction of his men. After a few minutes of walking through the deep snow, that could cover him 'till his knees at times, he saw the men. He was lucky with the fast timing, else their distance could mean danger only. "Guten Tag!" he greet the men, that were more than happy to see their general. "Danke, Herr Beillschmidt! Danke für Deine Hilfe!" they praised him already. "Bitte schön, meine freunde." he replied as he approached them. "Sie haben kein waffe?" Gilbert asked the men. "Nein, leider nicht ...". The men said rather dramatic. This wouldn't be good. But the men who came by transport plane should have some! "Wir müssen unser Männer finden für eine neue waffe! Und Schnell! ..." Gilbert told them and the men followed his fast footsteps in the snow towards the capital.

In the long nights the lost comrades would be remembered for their brave actions on the battlefield. It was already late and he send his left over men to their beds. Tomorrow reinforcements would be sent from Moscow. They needed to survive tomorrow. Just tomorrow and then Russia could put his secret plan to work.

Ivan knew he had made a smart choice by chosing the man he had in his small personal army. None of the men had died which was very good. All of the men he had chosen were highly professional in battle. All of them had collected more German Stahl helmets covered in blood than any other man from Ivan's platoon. Ivan was fond of these men and he entrusted his life to these. The operation Red Night would be a risky one right in enemy territory, but Russia and his men were highly trained in camouflage in snow and mountains. So were perfectly capable of surviving in General Winter's cruel storms since Ivan was also an expert on living with the elderly man.

The night had grown long and Ivan headed for his own tent where a blood dyed cloth was attached to his tent. Russia took the cloth and saw it was a note, he read it for a moment before laughing loudly. "Vanya tomorrow I shall storm and freeze over the lands. Be warned and hide. Or I will let my cool wrath steal your men and your victory" it said and Ivan just couldn't help but smirk. You could count on the General to send you a message with a warning and a hidden offer of help. Ivan walked inside his tent and ever since days, Russia would finally sleep well.

"Herr Beilschmidt, ich habe eine Messer hier!" said one of his men all of a sudden while lifting up the weapon. Finally another weapon, too bad it was only for close combat. Meaning it was still slightly considered useless, they were too obvious in this snow in their dark clothing. So any sneak attack wouldn't work out for the knife, but it's still way better than having nothing at all. "Sehr gut!" Gilbert smiled back at him. During their walk it became dark in the Russian territory, there was danger everywhere without proper vision. Russian men could be hidden anywhere around here. "Verdammt ..." Gilbert mumbled to himself, he wish that he could call his brother Ludwig for some support. Some reinforcement, but he simply couldn't by this sacrifice he made. He should have had listened to his brother, but leaving his men like this wasn't an option for Gilbert either. They had to move faster to get closer to the possible camp his men made around here somewhere.

There was no proper direction they could follow, every place looked the same. Everywhere there was blood, bodies and it's organs were spread all over covered in bits of snow. Gilbert looked up the trees with a deep sigh, where was hope when you needed it badly. Then his eyes widened as he noticed hanging men on the trees. "Was?!" he could almost cry of happiness and cry of their dumbness. These hanging corpses could lead them to the camp of the Germans, but it could also be extra dangerous with this. The other two men looked up as well, who reacted the exact same. "Hurra!" one of them cheered behind him. They decided to follow the hanging trail of bodies and slowly they indeed saw something deep in the distance that looked a bit like a camp. Gilbert told the men to be as silent as possible, it could as well be a Russian camp. Slowly and carefully they were approaching the camp, not much later they recognized a small symbol of their army. But nothing could be trusted, it could also be a trick of the Russians! It was awful to suffer from this paranoia on the battle field. They should consider themselves extremely lucky for still being alive during the bomb dropping of their men and launching pieces of metal all over and the Russian people all over.

"Warten bitte ..." he whispered to the other two, who nodded back at him. Slowly letting themselves drop on their knees for cover. Carefully Gilbert stepped closer to the camp, three men were guarding it from all sides. He took a deep, deep breath. "H-Hallo? Wie sind Sie?" to check if the man, closest by would react or not. He instantly started pointing his gun at Gilbert in the distance. "Halt!" he shout. Gilbert was shocked, too shocked to realize that it was a German soldier. "Achtung!" the same man shout to the rest of the camp, who woke up directly. Ready for action! Gilbert focussed better on the men who were resting in the camp, quietly preparing themselves for an attack. He stepped closer, putting his hands in the air while letting his gun drop in the snow. It took the men a moment, but they realized it was their Luftwaffe general. "Was? Sie sind Beilschmidt? Gilbert Beillschmidt?" the man suddenly asked, lowering his gun a little. "Ja!" Gilbert answered him. The soldier stopped pointing the gun at him and ran closer by, he was so happy to see another man alive, so happy. The soldier asked how they were doing as Gilbert picked up the Mauser he dropped earlier. The other two survivors noticed it was safe and also appeared and ran closer to join the chat. Together they told what happened on both sides of the battle field (Land and air) and came up with new ideas to attack Moscow in a few days, they weren't far away from their destination. During this the men were given new, better weapons and supplies and with that they celebrated their return with a good night rest as the three continued their guarding. Gott war mit uns ...
